Electrum กับ Sparrow: งาน ไม่ใช่ผู้ชนะ
“Electrum vs Sparrow” is almost always typed by someone who already has Electrum open. 2026 reviews praise Sparrow for spend transparency. They keep Electrum for being light and familiar since 2011. This is a decision table, not a star race.
What is the same

Both are bitcoin-only, both are self-custody, both speak hardware and watch-only. Both run on Windows without the full chain. Both are free in this catalog. The fight is the screen and the server, not a brand safety badge.
Keep Electrum
Keep it if the wallet opens in seconds on a weak laptop, you send simple amounts, you do not sign PSBTs every day, and you do not want to learn a new layout. Electrum uses less RAM than Sparrow and does not ask about UTXO clusters on first launch.
The honest downside every guide repeats: fake Electrum “updates” are an old trade. Download the catalog card or electrum.org, not a link from a “your wallet is outdated” window.
- Need Lightning in the same app — Electrum
- Need input labels and a transaction editor — Sparrow
- Need Bitcoin Core as the backend — both; Sparrow is simpler on RPC
Install Sparrow beside it, not instead
A common desk for people who already live on the PC: Electrum stays the fast window, Sparrow opens on the day you sign from hardware or sort change. That is not moving a seed to a website. It is a second client on the same descriptors or on watch-only.
If Sparrow feels noisy in week one, that is expected. After three careful sends the screen stops shouting. If it never does, you are not that user and Electrum is correct.
The same seed in two windows — or not
Importing the same seed into Sparrow makes sense if you deliberately want one key set and two screens. Watch-only is often safer: Sparrow sees inputs, Electrum still sends dust. Then a broken or swapped shortcut cannot spend from both windows.
Do not drop Sparrow “on top of” a fake Electrum from a pop-up updater. First confirm the live Electrum came from the catalog card or electrum.org. Then add the second window. Lightning in Electrum does not move into Sparrow one-to-one: channels stay in the client that opened them.
A weak laptop does not need both clients at once. Open the one whose job is today. The Electrum card if you want the familiar light client. The Sparrow card if today is hardware or UTXO work.
The catalog cards are ordinary desktops, not “boosters” and not clickers. Electrum stays the light window you already know. Sparrow does not invent a server: it uses a public Electrum server or your Bitcoin Core. If the only goal is to confirm the shortcut was not swapped, one fresh build of the client you already live in is enough.
